Molly Beard praises Larry Toups |

 Molly Beard is the 2008 President of the Canal Place Homeowner's Association and a very gracious and fun lady.
The Toups and I were lucky enough to catch her shortly after her summer break began from her duties as principal of Vinton Elementary School.
Molly offered the following comments about Larry Toups, owner of Canal Place Land Development as well as some insights about Canal Place.
"Bottom line...Larry is such a great person!
I'm originally from Welsh and Larry is from Iowa....We're small town folks! My parents knew his parents....
The minute my husband and I talked to Larry about building our house, we were convinced that he would do what he said he would do...most things were not even written down...the handshake was our way of sealing the deal. We trusted him, and he delivered..
 Larry is genuinely fair, and he has great ideas and fantastic taste. He gave me some very good suggestions while we were building.
Canal Place is a very unique subdivision. We were one of the first homeowners in the subdivision, and I know everyone! It is a very caring community and I wouldn't live anywhere else! It's all about neighbors helping neighbors, the location is the best, and I feel very fortunate to be around such a great group of people!
Having said that, we have been looking to find a small starter home/patio home for our son who just graduated from McNeese State University this past May. Larry told me he might have something of interest for Brady. Today, we sealed another deal on a patio home for Brady. I told Larry it looks like we will be spending another summer together!
I hope he can take working with this old Principal again! Let the good times begin!"
